So I've discovered LJ for iPhone, it's a beautiful thing. I can now start posting on here more! I know I haven't posted in a really long time. School is kicking my ass and work is doing the same. I got a car!!!! Finally!!!! It's an 05 eclipse and his name is Kit "Vin" Diesel :-). Buddy has gotten so big and even badder since I last posted about him.

My BFF Christina is moving down here to go to college!!!!! I'm really excited about this for many reasons. She'll be staying on campus though which is a bummer because it's 30 minutes away from where I live. We will manage though and it will be loads of fun!!!!! I can't wait!!!! We ate going to take the same classes so we can study together :-). It's going to be awesome. Alright must eat ttyl!!!!

I got there early because I just couldn't wait to hear her say that I'm a paranoid new mom and that he's fine. He didn't want to get out of the car at first and then when I went to get my purse and his cow, I had just grabbed my purse when he jumped out of the car! lol. I paniced and of course he was on a leash so I got him. I carried him inside and then he wouldn't go in so I had to pick him up and bring him inside then put him down. There was another beautiful dog there and it looked like a greyhound but it wasn't a greyhound it was another dog that starts with a V. It was a really beautiful dog though. ANYWAYS. He sniffed the cat, wound himself up through the chairs and then tried to play with the other dogs there. There were only a few though so he tired of that and sat for the rest of the time. The lady leads me back and she leaves and he pees on the floor, which I was expecting but was hoping to avoid. He's a puppy though and was excited so he can't help it. Anyways the vet finally comes in, gives him his shots and then tells me that he's only four months old not six months. Which explains a lot. He didn't want to leave, he wanted to stay. I got a puppy starter kit and we went back home. He was tuckered out after I put his flea med on him and gave him his heart worm medicine. I'm sitting in my computer chair and he likes to lay next to me against my little dresser that has my tv on it and what I saw was just the cutest thing. I had to take a picture...

That's Buddy sleeping with his cow which when he chews on it it moo's for him. He loves it. Isn't he just so cute!? ::gushes::

I GOT A PUPPY!!!

I know it's not original but he's been following me around all day like my buddy so that's why I named him buddy! He's a terrier mix, I'm not sure which type though, I'll find out. He's seriously the cutest thing ever. Really small and lovable, he took to me as soon as I took him from the girl lol. He loves to be around me and go outside and play, it's so great!

He attacked the food bowl when I first put food in it. I don't think they were feeding him enough, he's skin and bones. He ate two dog treats in the 10 minute drive back home.

And...I gave him two when he got home too :-D!
(Yes, I'm going to spoil him. hehehe)

He's a really great dog already. He listens, he knows where to go potty and he doesn't bark, at all. I think he might have been bullied at his old home (there were a lot of other dogs there) because he would flinch when I'd raise my hand :(. He's sleepin now on the bed behind my computer chair, he's so adorable guys!!!!

I'm doing my reading for government class and they have a section in the book called Beyond Our Borders. This chapter is about The Courts, mainly the Supreme Courts and then it mentions stuff about the Courts below that. Anyways, for this Beyond Our Borders it's explaining The Legal System Based on Sharia which is an Islamic law that is used in a lot of countries.

It's first major source is, of course, the Qur'an and the second is called sunnah, which is based on the way the Prophet Muhammad lived his life. The book says...

All possible actions of Muslims are divided into five categories.

1. Obligatory
2. Meritorious
3. Permissible
4. Reprehensible
5. Forbidden

It actually basically controls the life of a Muslim living in the country that uses these laws. The book says...
Sharia law covers many aspects of daily life, including the following:

Dietary rules
Relations between married men and women
The role of a woman
Holidays
Dress codes, particularly for women
Speech with respect to the Prophet Muhammad
Crimes, including adultery, murder, and theft
Business dealings, including borrowing and lending of funds.

My question to you guys is...How do you think our world would be different if we had these laws in place?

Hope this wasn't too deep, I'm just curious and no offense to any other religion, I think it's fascinating in a really scary way because I can't imagine my world being controlled like that.

This past Saturday Della (the lady I care for during the day) passed away. It was sudden and shocking and I still can't believe it. I keep wanting to go across the street and hang out and talk to her. I had just left and I'm so glad that I said bye to her when I went across the street because the next time I was there, she was gone. She was such an amazing lady, so smart, she knew everything about anything. She has hundreds of books, all that she's read. Her personality was amazing. Ten minutes of talking to her and you felt like you knew her your whole life. She was honest too which I love in a person. She'd tell you if she didn't like the way you cooked her food, or if you did something she didn't like. She used to correct pronunciations in a heartbeat, she was so hilarious, she'd have me laughing my butt off all the time.

Because she had COPD/emphysema, she knew she was going to pass. She was at the end stages which usually lasts six months, she lasted two years. Also because of this she was able to get everything in order and plan her own funeral. I know this is going to sound bad but her funeral was great. She planned everything down to the flowers. She was cremated so they had pictures and flowers on a few tables and it was a really nice set up. Everyone died with laughter when they started playing Paul Simon and Rod Stewart "Tonight's The Night" It's totally Della I think it's what she would have wanted. As long as I didn't look at her picture I was fine, until the last song. I don't know what it was called but it was a gospel song and I think it was something about going on or dieing something by Johnny Cash, I forget, it had me tearing up a little though.

I went over there today to let the dogs out because her daughter Dori was in Indiana for the memorial service that she wanted them to have up in Stockwell, I think it's Stockwell. Anyways she'll be back tomorrow so I went over and let the dogs out and then came back in and put the dishes in the dishwasher and made her bed and it was really really weird and creepy being there without her oxygen on. I guess I just have to get used to it, used to her not being here. Which pretty much sucks because I still can't believe she's gone.

break it in half!"

The nun fainted.

I really wish that whatever this is that's going on with me will just GO AWAY! I'm nauseous. I'm tired sitting up but as soon as I get in that damn bed it's like I'm wide awake. I really hate it and I wish it would stop because it's really messing up my sleeping schedule and I don't go to bed until like 6 am! I have class at 9:30!! I'm going to be seriously crying by the time I get done my day at 3pm. Why now? I have finals coming up in a week and a half!! I'm seriously going to cry.

It's been a few days since I updated and I thought I should update again. I promise this time it won't be so insanely long. School is going alright, I got a D on my last government quiz because I didn't read all 25 pages of the chapter. That's alright though because I get to drop two of my quiz grades. I just have to do great on all the other quiz's or fail at life.

I've been going through HP sorting communities and I must say I'm VERY disappointed by some of them. I won't name names but man, some of them are insanely harsh! I was reading applications and in one community they were out right rejecting people because of the format of their application. THE FORMAT! You can tell how much this outrages me so I won't talk about it anymore.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the nanny job. They called me on Saturday and told me that they were still interested in me but they wanted to interview someone else. I think I already wrote about this, if I did, whoops. Anyways I haven't heard anything back from them yet.

Monday was interesting. Sunday night there was a HUGE storm that just swept in out of no where. The wind and rain were so frightening to me that I actually woke my poor dad up. I'm not originally from Texas so I'm not used to the whether down here and whenever rain and wind sweeps in like that I automatically think TORNADO RUN FOR COVER! Thank God it was just a storm and it swept past but the trouble wouldn't end there for me. My phone decided to out of no where DIE on me. I use my phone to get up for school. I'll just say that I didn't go to school on Monday which totally sucks because I just lost six points in government.

I need to stop slacking and get back to reading.

I haven't updated in here in forever, whoops. I've just been procrastinating and running around like a crazy person. I had a midterm in government last week with a side of a huge history exam. I got C's on both of them, I still think I should have done better on my government midterm so I'm going to ask him for the answer key on Monday.

Well let's see, where to begin. Wednesday I ran out of gas in the school parking lot, how embarassing! I had to walk over to the campus police station. They didn't want to do anything but once I told them that it was in the middle of one of the roads they helped me back it down to where I could get it parked. I swear I had enough gas to get me back home but apparently the big hunk of junk didn't think so. Just so y'all don't think I'm crazy, my gas gauge is broke so I go by miles. So, because my gas ran out and I had a class, I had to walk allllllll the way over to the other side of campus just so I wouldn't miss my class and lose six extra points. I almost died and then I was in a bad mood because it wasn't even worth going to class, he just rambled ON AND ON AND ON about his dog again.

I get out of class and I walk alllllll the way back over to the other side of campus. That's when I realize that I have eight dollars in my purse, more than enough to get me home. So I walk allll the way over to the gas station to see if they'll let me borrow a gas can, the guy tells me it's against the law, wtf ever. He just wanted me to buy one, cheap ass. So I walk back onto campus and walk over to the bookstore. They helped me out which was amazingly great and I got a gas can from one of the maintaince guys that work there. So I went over filled up the little gas can and then walked allll the way back to my trunk of junk and the maintaince guy helped me pour it in, he's my hero :-D. I get the gas in and drive the hunk of junk over to the gas station and fill her up with the rest of the eight dollars. I finally made it home....three hours later. I had to miss work and everything.

Friday I slept in....until 2:45 pm. I was soooo late for work lol. But Thursday night I had a job interview to be a nanny, I'm so excited! The little girl is so cute but it will be super easy! It's basically what I was doing before I moved down here to Texas (watching a kid and cleaning the house) but there is only one kid and the house is like 235464723 floors smaller. The house is really nice and the parents are really nice too. They have a spare bedroom and even offered to let me sleep over or to come over and do my homework if I wanted to. The guy is a nurse, he puts people to sleep when they're getting surgery. The woman is in the army but she's only going to be a nurse too doing the same thing. So I'd have to get up around 4:30 and be at their house which is five minutes down the road by 5. They said that they were definitely considering me but they wanted to meet with another girl before they made the decision, which I'm totally fine with. They've already gone through like five nanny's since they lived here because they've all been really irresponsible. I got a call from them telling me that they were going to go ahead and go interview the other girl but that they wanted me to know that they were still considering me. They didn't want me to think that they weren't, which I thought was really sweet. The pay is amazing! If I get this job I really wouldn't have to worry about much since the only thing I do worry about is money and gas lol.

On to fun things...justinrox picked out icons for me and now I have to tell her why I have them.

This one is my supernatural icon. I love it because it has a laptop and yummy Sam and because it says geek and I consider myself to be a huge geek and proud of it. I basically use this icon when I'm talking about school or if I want to call someone a geek. I always mean it as a compliment though, never a bad thing ;-)

Honestly I don't know why I have this icon lol. I just liked it I guess and I was in a girl power kind of mood. I like that it has pink and red and that it shows a cartoon character chick having muscles. I dunno seriously lol I just like it. I haven't used this icon yet, I just added it like two weeks ago.

Mmmmm Frankie. I love Frankie and I love MCR which is why I have this icon. I like that he has long hair because I like him with long hair, it's my favorite look of his. Isn't he just adorable and cute and hot and you just want to pinch his cheeks or something else? Hehe. I use this icon when I want to show some hotness in my journal, it works alllll the time.

When I saw this icon I just knew I had to have it! Gee in a library! Two of my favorite things! It was like a match made in heaven, AND he's holding books! It couldn't get any better than that! I still can't figure out what he's holding in his hand though. I'm thinking kool-aid which would be awesome, but I don't know lol. This is another one of my nerdy icons that I love oh so much that I use all the time.

This icon is a newbie, I loveeeee this icon because Ghost Whisperer is one, if not, my favorite favorite TV show. I've been watching it from the beginning and when I saw this icon and realized that I actually like the picture of Love, I knew it was meant to be. I snatched it and uploaded it and it'll stay in my journal forever and ever. I use it when I'm talking about Ghost Whisperer which I haven't done yet because I'm lazy, but I will soon.

Draco Malfoy. This is the only Draco Malfoy icon that I have or that I've found that I actually like. If you haven't noticed by now, I'm really really really picky about the icons that I use, especially since I only have fifteen on here lol. I liked this one because it's from the fifth movie and it's from a scene that they actually cut him out of :( Poor Draco ::pets him:: I use this icon when I talk about Harry Potter, which is all the time.

Sigh, my Joshua. I have this icon because Josh is my favorite from 'N Sync, well okay one of my favorites. But this icon reminds me of my JUC line because I have it in his journal too. He's the oldest character that I've ever had (it'll be two years next February). Look at him! He's gorgeous! How could I NOT have an icon of him in my journal? Just so you know Marcie, I did add a JUC icon onto my journal, you can go check and see :p.

My school, in all their retardedness decides to schedule construction for the rest of fall semester. The campus isn't a big one, and we barely have enough parking spots as it is. They're closing one of the main ones that stops us from having to park in BFE. Excuse me while I ask myself WHAT THE FUCK! Why couldn't they have done this in summer semester?! When we didn't have 4000 more people than we usually do. Do they realize how hard it is going to be to find a parking spot now?! And the traffic!! I don't even want to think about the traffic. I'm going to go cry now.

I should be reading my history and government homework. But what am I really doing you ask? Thank you for asking. First of all, I prettied up my lovely LJ, you must all go and see and swoon and give me feedback on my loveliness, JK lol. I really like it though, it fits with my Harry Potter theme. Secondly, I wrote a little bio on my user info page. Thirdly, I updated my icons and added new greatness. Lastly, I added links to my new pretty layout. That took me an hour and a half, I am finally done and I tell myself I'm going to read but what do I do instead? I look at my friends list and see all the great recs that my rec Goddess ravenqueen55 has listed in her journal. I tell myself NO CATHLENE NO YOU NEED TO READ but what do I do? I CLICK ON THE LINK AND I'M AUTOMATICALLY PULLED IN AND GAHHHH I CAN'T STOP MYSELF!! I have to read and before long I'm drawn in and I just can't stop READING! Then I think about the book review that I have due this Tuesday for history (on a book I haven't even started) and the quiz that I have in government this Monday for a chapter that I haven't even read, and that's when I start to panic. You'd think that after all the panicking is done that I'd actually get to the reading of the chapters. UH NO! I'm still stuck in this fantasy world and I lose myself in the slashy yumminess that is Harry/Draco. God I need help.
